Outreach Rules
The simple idea: creators did not sign up to Riselist. Treat every email like you are knocking on someone's office door — be relevant, be honest, be brief, and leave the moment they say no.
The 10 rules
1. Only use the creator's public business email
- Use only the business email the creator listed publicly themselves (e.g. in their TikTok bio or a linked business page).
- Never guess emails, use email-finder tools, buy lists, or use personal phone numbers or DMs found elsewhere.
- Do not email if the creator's profile says something like "no unsolicited emails", "no brand deals", or "management only" — follow what it says (e.g. contact their manager if one is listed).
2. Only send relevant, real offers
- Every email must be about a genuine paid or gifted partnership that fits the creator's content.
- Write to one creator at a time, and make it personal (mention their content). No "blast" emails.
- Do not contact anyone you know or suspect is under 18.
3. Say clearly who you are
- Use your real name, your real brand or agency name, and a working reply-to address on your own domain.
- If you are an agency, name the brand you are representing.
- Never pretend to be TikTok, another brand, or a fan. Never say or suggest that you are "from TikTok" or "TikTok approved".
4. Use honest subject lines
- The subject line must match what is inside. Example: "Paid partnership idea — [Brand] x [Creator]".
- Banned: fake "Re:" or "Fwd:", "Urgent", "Payment waiting", "Your account", or anything that looks like a TikTok notice.
5. Put an easy opt-out in every email
- Every email (first email and follow-ups) must have a clear line such as: "Not interested? Reply 'STOP' or click here and we will never contact you again."
- The opt-out must be free and need nothing more than a reply or one click.
- It must keep working for at least 30 days after the email is sent.
6. Stop when asked — fast
- If a creator says no, asks you to stop, or unsubscribes: stop at once.
- Add them to the do-not-contact list the same day, and never later than 2 business days (the US legal maximum is 10 business days — we go faster).
- Never email someone just to "confirm" they unsubscribed, and never try to change their mind.
7. Maximum 2 follow-ups
- 1 first email + up to 2 follow-ups, at least 5 days apart. Then stop.
- No reply = no. Do not start a new "sequence" with the same creator for at least 90 days, and only with a genuinely new offer.
8. Respect the shared do-not-contact list
- Riselist keeps one do-not-contact list shared across all brands and agencies.
- When a creator opts out from any brand, or asks Riselist directly, they are blocked for everyone. The platform will block sends to them.
- Brands that send emails outside the platform must check the list first, and report any opt-outs they receive to samuelaguda77@gmail.com within 2 business days.
- Creators can also ask to be removed from Riselist entirely at https://getriselist.com/creators.html#remove or samuelaguda77@gmail.com.
9. Keep volume low
- Per brand: no more than 50 new creators contacted per day and 500 per month.
- Per creator: no more than 3 different brands may contact the same creator in any 7-day period through Riselist. (This protects creators from fatigue — and protects our reputation.)
- Send from a properly set-up domain (SPF, DKIM, DMARC). If your emails start to bounce or get spam complaints, pause and contact us.
10. Remind creators to label ads
- When a deal is agreed, put the disclosure rule in the brief and contract: posts must show "#ad" or "Ad" at the start of the caption, say or show it in the video itself, and turn on TikTok's branded-content / paid-partnership label.
- Do not rely on vague words like "#sp", "#spon", "#collab", "#ambassador", "gifted" or "thanks to [brand]" alone — US and UK regulators say these are not clear enough.
- Brands are responsible too: check the posts after they go live and ask the creator to fix missing labels.
- Creators must give their honest opinion — never ask for fake reviews or banned claims (e.g. untrue health or money claims).
Sample compliant email footer
Copy this to the bottom of every outreach email and follow-up. Fill in the brackets.
—
[Your full name], [Job title]
[Brand or agency name] — on behalf of [Client brand, if agency]
[Physical business address: street, city, country]
[Your reply-to email]
Why you're getting this: we found your public business email on your
TikTok profile and think you'd be a good fit for a paid partnership.
We are not affiliated with TikTok.
Not interested? Just reply "STOP" or opt out here: https://getriselist.com/creators.html#remove
and you won't hear from us — or any brand using Riselist — again.
How we handle your data: https://getriselist.com/creators.html
Why each part is there:
- Name, brand, address → honest identity; US CAN-SPAM requires a physical postal address.
- "Why you're getting this" → privacy laws (GDPR, NDPA) require telling people where you got their details.
- "Not affiliated with TikTok" → avoids looking like a platform notice or scam.
- STOP / unsubscribe → required by CAN-SPAM, PECR, CASL; honoured across all brands.
- Privacy notice link → tells creators their rights (access, correction, deletion, objection).
Quick checklist before you hit send
- ☐ Public business email the creator listed themselves?
- ☐ Profile does not say "no unsolicited emails"?
- ☐ Not on the do-not-contact list?
- ☐ Real offer that fits this creator?
- ☐ Honest subject line, real name and brand?
- ☐ Footer with address, reason, opt-out and privacy link?
- ☐ This is email #1, #2 or #3 — not #4?
- ☐ Within daily / monthly limits?
What happens if rules are broken
- First minor issue: warning and fix.
- Repeated issues, complaints, or ignoring opt-outs: sending is paused or the account is suspended or closed without refund (Terms of Service, section 14).
